Castiglion Fibocchi
Description
Castiglion Fibocchi is a very picturesque small town located at the side of the Protomagno, on the right side of the Arno river, in the province of Arezzo. It was probably founded by the Romans along the important road called "Via Clodia".
It was a feudal village of the Conti Guidi in the XI cent, then, like most of the Aretine territory, it was ruled by the Florentines.
At a short distance from the village, the Church of Santa Maria a Pezzano, with a beautiful fresco of an Annunciazione (XIV century) of Aretine school, worth a visit.
